Event Participation Terms
Last updated: October 2026
1. Purpose
SPG events provide welcoming, accessible opportunities for adults affected by stroke, disability and serious ill health, with appropriate family, friends and supporters, to participate in golf and golf-club life. Participation may include golf, the practice range, putting/coaching or social attendance.
2. Registration
Places may be limited. A registration or enquiry is not confirmed until Stroke Play Golf confirms the participant's place. Please tell us promptly if you can no longer attend.
3. Changes and cancellations
Dates, times, activities and facilities may change because of weather, course conditions, venue requirements, safety, staffing or other circumstances. We will make reasonable efforts to notify registered participants of material changes.
4. Personal circumstances
Participants are responsible for deciding whether they are able to take part in their chosen activity. Stroke Play Golf does not provide medical assessment or clinical rehabilitation. If unsure whether an activity is suitable, seek appropriate professional advice before participating.
5. Accessibility
Please tell us about practical support or accessibility adjustments that would help. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests but cannot guarantee that every adjustment, buggy, adapted item or facility will be available at every venue.
6. Buggies
A buggy request does not guarantee availability. Use may be subject to host-club rules, weather, ground conditions, operator requirements and safety instructions.
7. Host-club rules
Participants must follow reasonable instructions from Stroke Play Golf organisers, coaches and host-club staff, including rules relating to course access, buggies, equipment, dress, safety and conduct.
8. Conduct
Events should be welcoming and inclusive. Abusive, discriminatory, threatening, unsafe or seriously disruptive behaviour may result in a person being asked to stop an activity or leave.
9. Personal belongings
Participants remain responsible for their belongings, equipment and valuables, subject to rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Photography and filming
Event attendance is not blanket consent to identifiable photography or filming for publicity. Where appropriate, we will explain intended use and obtain permission. Tell an organiser if you do not wish to be photographed or filmed.
11. Injury, loss and liability
Golf and physical activity involve ordinary risks. Stroke Play Golf will take reasonable steps in organising activities but cannot guarantee an event will be risk-free. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
12. Emergencies
If an urgent situation arises, organisers may contact emergency services and use information reasonably available to assist with the response. Participants should provide an emergency contact where requested.
